Blessed Is The Man

One of the most significant proofs that a man is truly blessed as God wants to bless him is that he delights in the Bible. Before I received Jesus I had no interest whatsoever in the Bible. It bored me. If I had any use for the Bible, it was only to use it to get what I wanted. I wonder if that is how you feel about it. I received Him one morning and that same evening I began reading the Bible. Within minutes of awaking each morning I pray and begin studying it. Days I do not start that way are rare and troublesome. The Bible has become the greatest blessing in my life. It is directly connected to every other blessing. Soon after receiving Jesus I began calling the Bible my treasure. I didn*t even know the half of it.

Psalms 1:1-6: Blessed is the man (present tense) that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Romans 4:8: Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Strong*s Concordance defines that word blessed this way: supremely blest, fortunate, well off, blessed, happy, happier.

There is a direct connection between the Bible and becoming a man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Romans 10:17: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The measure of our delight in the Bible will be pretty much the same measure of how blessed of God we are. Dear friend, if you have not discovered for yourself how delightful the Bible is, you are missing the best blessings of God. You need to make a commitment to begin studying it regularly. If it doesn*t become your delight you may not have truly received Jesus into your heart. You may not have truly tasted the Lord and found Him gracious.

1 Peter 2:2-3: As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

Psalms 119:11: Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Psalms 119:105: NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Psalms 119:1-2: ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. 2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.
